UCHealth and Deion Sanders are teaming up to make Coloradans healthier through a series of social media videos.
In the series, Sanders — otherwise known as Coach Prime — shares that Colorado was once seen as one of the healthiest states. However, over the years people have gotten fewer hours of sleep, not gotten outside enough and not focused on their mental health.
Colorado currently ranks 10th in America’s Health Rankings and 15th in the latest U.S. News & World Report’s Best State Rankings.
Sanders challenges all Coloradans “be your healthiest selves,” the Ready. Set. CO campaign states.
“There’s no way you can be healthy in mind, body, spirt, and so on, if you’re not, first of all, eating smart and doing the right things – tough physically and mentally, emotionally, psychologically,” Sanders said. “You’ve got to be disciplined to accomplish anything in life, and then have a good character. If you say you’re going to do something, do it.”
Coloradans can join Coach Prime by signing up for the Ready. Set. CO challenge. Those participating will receive health tips, recipes, exercise regimens and information about local events.
