The Boulder County Commissioners Tuesday afternoon will consider new gun control measures including requiring a 10-day waiting period prior to the sale of a firearm.

The other ordinances would:

  • Prohibit the purchase of a firearm by anyone under the age of 21.
  • Prohibit the carrying of firearms in sensitive areas including churches and schools
  • Prohibit the sale and purchase of assault weapons, large-capacity magazines and trigger activators.
  • Prohibit the possession of so-called “ghost guns” or unfinished firearms.

The commissioners are scheduled to vote on the ordinances following a 3 p.m. public hearing.

Live virtual public comment is available and written comments can be emailed to [email protected].
