LONGMONT, CO  (July 8, 2025) – CommonSpirit Health Mountain Region will soon be  accepting applications for its annual Community Health Improvement grants, formerly known as Health Equity and Advancement Fund grants, that will be awarded early next year to local community-based organizations who support the health needs of underserved and underrepresented  groups in our communities.

The grant application period will open on July 14th and close on  Sept.12.  Information can be found at Health Equity & Advancement Fund | CommonSpirit Health .

”The CommonSpirit Health Improvement Grants are a means for us to extend our mission outside the walls of our hospitals as we partner with organizations to make our communities healthier, address social determinants of health, and support those who are most vulnerable. I’m proud to work for an organization that sees this kind of work as essential to the overall health of our communities,” said Debra Mohesky, President of CommonSpirit Longmont United Hospital.

CommonSpirit Health’s Mountain Region anticipates awarding grants totalling a little over $1 million to nonprofit organizations in Colorado, Kansas, and Utah, to assist with health equity initiatives in local communities. Last year 33 organizations received grants, which supported initiatives such as providing medical respite care for unhoused individuals, supporting women who are survivors of human trafficking, and increasing equitable access to nutrient-rich foods through mobile foodbanks that offer produce grown by local farmers.
