The Open Door Fund, a permanent endowment of Community Foundation Boulder County, is accepting grant proposals for programs that enhance the lives of LGBTQ+ people and their allies.

While the Open Door Fund accepts proposals from a variety of organizations, first priority is given to applications from organizations that are primarily LGBTQ-focused and LGBTQ+ led, according to a Monday Community Foundation blog post. Applications from other organizations seeking funding for LGBTQ+ serving projects and programs also will be considered.

Requests for general operating support only will be considered from organizations that primarily serve the LGBTQ+ community, according to the post.

“Open Door Fund is interested in supporting new and emerging ideas, and interesting collaborations, especially those that contribute to systemic change,” according to the post.

This year's Open Door Fund grant cycle will be divided into two processes for organizations with budgets less than $100,000 and those with budgets greater than $100,000.

The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. July 10. Grant recipients will be notified in mid-September, according to the Community Foundation.

Guidelines for applying include:

  • Applications must be submitted online. New applicants are urged to view this training video  to facilitate the registration process.

  • Once the application has been submitted, an automatic email receipt will be sent confirming that all application materials were successfully received.

  • Organizations that received funding from the Community Foundation in the last 12 months, with the exception of COVID-19 Response Funds, are required to complete the Progress Report section of the application for each grant awarded.

  • All required items must be completed for applications to be accepted. Additional materials will not be accepted.

  • Organizations that do not complete interim or the final reports, are not eligible to receive further funding through the Community Foundation’s competitive grant cycles.
