The final agreements allowing the construction of a proposed Costco warehouse and regional center in southeast Longmont will be reviewed and put to public hearings on July 27.

Longmont City Council this week postponed hearing the Costco plans because of a printing error in the legal notice over the issue.

The 150,000-square-foot retail store and fueling station is slated for the Irwin Thomas property, located north and south of Colo. 119 between Martin Street and 119th street.

On July 27, the council will consider a comprehensive plan land use amendment, rezoning and concept plan amendments for the Irwin Thomas parcel. Public hearings will also be held.

The siting of the Costco regional center will bring commercial development and more affordable housing to the city, according to a city staff report.

City officials say the Costco development will create more than 300 jobs and $4.06 million in new sales tax in the store’s first full year of operation. The city’s package of incentives to Costco is more than $12.99 million, according to city staff.
