City Council Tuesday night will discuss the performances and possible pay raise of City Attorney Eugene Mei at an executive session.

The session is slated to start at 5:30 p.m. Executive sessions are closed to the public and media. A regular council meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Councilors last year unanimously approved moving Mei’s base salary from $189,346 a year to $217,736. Mei — who has been city attorney since March 2009 — also received a retention payment of $30,000, which requires him to stay with the city for two years or he would repay the amount.
