The suspect was seen outside the apartment late Saturday morning asking for a jump.  The deceased, her mother, and her sister were in the apartment at this time.  The boy at some point left the area but returned around 6:15 pm with a knife that was allegedly used by the boy to fatally stab Grote, 18, once in the chest and once in the head.

According to Deputy DA Foote, the boy's list said he'd kill anyone in his path.

The boy pursued Grote's sister who was able to lock herself in a room which the boy attempted to enter but failed.

The police found the boy approximately 7 hours later in Lakewood.  He was in his parent's vehicle and about one mile away from the third person on his death list when he was arrested for allegedly stabbing Makayla Grote.

Approximately a month ago police investigated troubling texts between Grote's sister and the boy.  The 'death list' was mentioned at this time.

The boy is scheduled to appear for formal charges Wednesday morning, November 21st.
