Dirt bike crash near Allenspark draws rescue crews

A 41-year-old man was taken to the Estes Park Hospital Monday after he struck a tree while riding his dirt bike in the area of Pierson Park. The rescue of the man took about five hours, according to a Boulder County Sheriff’s news release.

The man had been riding dirt bikes with his 13-year-old son when he crashed after striking the tree. He sent his son for help and he went to the Allenspark Fire Station to get aid, the news release states.

Allenspark Fire and Estes Park Ambulance were first to arrive in the area to start looking for the father. The Rocky Mountain Rescue Group assisted in finding him. Larimer County Search and Rescue also responded and assisted on the carry out of the injured man to an awaiting ambulance, the news release states.

The news release gave no indication of the injured man’s current condition.

Agencies assisting in the rescue included: Allenspark Fire, Estes Park Ambulance, Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, Larimer County Search and Rescue and both Boulder County and Larimer County Sheriff’s Offices, the news release states.
