A comeback for the Front Range Community College’s theater program is being fueled by a playwright from the Boulder County campus.

Juleah O’Grady is one four student playwrights who wrote a collection of 10-minute plays that will be performed at FRCC’s Larimer County campus later this week, said Dana Formby, a co-director and FRCC theatre professor.

“It’s an absolute thrill for her (O’Grady) to finally have her work presented on stage,” Formby said.

The theater program was put on an 18-month hiatus due to COVID-19 restrictions. The college is asking people to celebrate the theater program’s return with the 10-minute plays, written by four student playwrights, including O’Grady, according to a FRCC news release.

The plays will be held Thursday and Friday, Oct. 28 and 29, at 7:30 p.m. and on Saturday, Oct. 30, at 2:30 p.m. Performances are also scheduled Nov. 3, 4, and 5 at 7:30 p.m.

FRCC’s Larimer County campus is located at 4616 S. Shields Street in Fort Collins. Please go to the Redcloud Peak building, Studio 106, the news release states.

The show is co-directed by FRCC theatre professors Formby and John Hill.

“FRCC’s theatre program is honored to produce these works because they are written by the students - and ultimately for them,” Hill said in the news release. “We want to welcome members of the community to be one of the first audiences to ever see these new plays.”
