Geno Lechuga is running for SVVSD Board of Education.

Geno Lechuga graduated from Lyons High School and is ready to give back by running for the St. Vrain Valley School Board of Education.

“I cannot say enough positive things about St. Vrain and what the administration, faculty, coaches, and community for what they did for me, and continue to do for my family.  Having come from a different background than most, who knows where I would have ended up had it not been for my family and for the people of St. Vrain.  I have been given so much, and now it’s my turn to give back,” Lechuga said.

Lechuga is a director of sales within the industrial safety industry. He and his wife graduated from Lyons High School and enrolled their children in SVVSD schools. He spends some of his free time volunteering as the public announcer for the Frederick Varsity baseball teams.

Lechuga has never held a public office and is new to the school board. He is running for District G.

He said he has a lot to learn before he gives advice but is eager to learn what is working and what is not.

“I will pride myself to come to the table with solutions and to work as a team to ensure St. Vrain continues to be one of the best school districts in the nation. Most importantly, I want to help as many kids as possible have a positive experience and help them achieve their goals and become the leaders of tomorrow,” Lechuga said.

Lechuga hopes, if elected, to use his role on the school board to encourage students to work hard, make their families, schools and communities proud, set goals and see the positive in all they do.

“I am humbled and honored to have this opportunity to represent the community and school district that my family and I care so much about.  No matter the results or outcome of this campaign, this community and school district will live in our hearts forever.  This is where home will always be,” Lechuga said.

Lechuga will run against opponent Melissa Marter for the seat, currently the only contested race in the school board election.
