Going Green: Free composting workshops for residents

BOULDER COUNTY - Boulder County Public Works’ Resource Conservation Division is once again offering free compost workshops to residents that are hosted by a master composter. The sessions are designed to help both those who want to start composting in their backyards and those who already have a home system but are looking for tips on improving their final product.  

 

Upcoming Workshops 

  • Tuesday, April 30 from 5:30 to 7:45 p.m. at the Longmont Library 
  • Monday, May 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Boulder County Recycling Center  
  • Saturday, May 18 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Louisville Library  

Classes are free but registration is required because space is limited. Workshops cover: 

  • Essential habits of a successful backyard compost bin 
  • Browns vs. Greens 
  • Compost bin and tool suggestions 
  • How to establish your bin 
  • How to use compost 
  • Troubleshooting your pile
