Longmont, CO - The Sierra Club has endorsed Tim Waters to represent Ward 1 on the Longmont City Council in the 2018 February Special Election. Longmont elected officials make vital decisions about local air quality, water quality, parks and open space, wildlife protection and energy generation and consumption, and other issues affecting the environment. Sierra Club endorsements identify candidates who prioritize environmental issues and are likely to take a pro-environment position if elected.
Tim Waters will bring expertise and good ideas to the Longmont City Council. Tim espouses the concept of sustainable development for our rapidly growing city. This concept of People, Profit and Planet means that projects need to be profitable for developers but also good for people and contribute to a healthy environment. Tim is also committed to finding ways prevent fracking in Longmont and to promoting renewable energy. Tim will add a depth of experience and commitment to the environment to the Longmont City Council.
