Juvenile female rescued near Community Ditch Trail

Boulder County, Colo. - On Tuesday July 20, 2021, at approximately 12:39 p.m., the Boulder County Communications was notified of a young adult who was experiencing generalized weakness. She was in the area of the Community Ditch Trail, just south of Boulder.

The female was assisting with trail maintenance when she began feeling weak and was unable to walk out to the trailhead. Mountainview Fire Protection District and rangers from the City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks provided initial first-aid. The female was then assisted back to the trail where she was driven out to a waiting ambulance and evaluated by paramedics. She was transported to a local hospital for further medical evaluation.

Agencies assisting with this rescue effort included: Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Mountainview Fire Protection District, Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, and City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks.
