The following announcement is from Boulder County, but, since there is no specific Longmont session (?), we're reporting this here as a service to our readers.  If you're interested in this kind of service being provided to Longmont residents in Longmont proper, contact information for who to talk with is listed below.

Boulder County and the Boulder Office of Emergency Management will be facilitating a session of Better Together in Lafayette.

What is Better Together?

Better Together explores the meaning of resilience and the role of emergency management, and helps individuals develop personal skills and connections to navigate emergency situations.

The course consists of three sessions and features a variety of interactive exercises, group discussions, guest speakers, and activities aimed at developing a mindset of resilience in the context of a variety of hazards. Participants who complete the course will be better equipped to build resilience in their communities and increase capacity to help protect themselves, their family, and their neighbors during any emergency.

How to get involved?

The Better Together course will be offered a total of five times in 2017, in: April (City of Boulder), June (Lafayette), September (City of Boulder), October (Unincorporated Boulder County), and November (City of Boulder).

The schedule for the Lafayette session is as follows:

June 7th, 14th, and 21st

East Simpson Coffee House

6-8:30 pm

To register, please apply online: http://www.resilienttogether.org/better-...

Each class is limited to a maximum of 25 participants. The first 25 people with desired availability (i.e. are available to attend all three classes) and thoughtful responses will be accepted.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask them here or e-mail me at: [email protected]

Hope to see you there!
