The City of Longmont invites you to consider joining the soon to launch Sustainability Coalition to share your perspectives and feedback as we work to achieve our sustainability goals.

The City of Longmont invites you to consider joining the soon to launch Sustainability Coalition. The Sustainability Coalition will provide feedback to City Staff on the progress of the Sustainability Plan as the City works to achieve sustainability goals. This group will provide diverse perspectives, social networks and expertise critical for successful implementation of the Sustainability Plan. The Board of Environmental Affairs will oversee the Sustainability Coalition, and will be the entity that will take any formal sustainability-related recommendations to City Council.

Sustainability Coalition Kick-off Meeting

When: Tuesday, August 29 from 5:30-7:00 pm

Where: The Longmont Public Library – Rooms A and B

The key roles and responsibilities of the Sustainability Coalition include:

  • Providing feedback on tracking and reporting progress of strategy implementation and associated sustainability initiatives
  • Providing feedback on the annual review of goals, objectives, and targets in the Sustainability Plan
  • Identifying opportunities and barriers to strategy implementation
  • Identifying mechanisms to ensure that sustainability activities and benefits are equitably shared across our community
  • Supporting community outreach and engagement efforts
  • Supporting advocacy for sustainability initiatives
  • Providing technical expertise as-needed

We will discuss further details of the Sustainability Coalition at the kick off meeting on August 29.
