I am voting for Joan Peck for Mayor of Longmont because of the strong record she has a city council member, showing that she will fight for all the things that will make this a better city for everyone.

Joan has been a leader in pushing RTD to bring rail service here so that we can get some return on the tax money we pay to RTD every year. She is keeping up that leadership role, and now she’s pushing equally hard to make sure Longmont is a stop on any future Front Range rail line. So someday we will be able to get on a high-speed train right here in Longmont to take us as far as Wyoming or New Mexico! Knowing Joan, I’m sure she won’t stop until that vision becomes a reality.

Joan has also been a leader in the fight to keep fracking away from Longmont. She was the first Council member to raise the issue of air quality monitoring here. And she made sure it became a reality so that now we can know more exactly many of the dangers we and our children face from fracking.

Speaking of children, Joan strongly supports the State’s commitment to funding early childhood education for all children. She combines compassionate concern for all children, and for people of all ages, with the political experience and skill that it takes to get things done. I urge everyone to cast their vote for Joan Peck for Mayor.
