The 4-H group will host its annual Fun in the Sun event on March 9 at the Boulder County Fairground’s Exhibit building. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. It promises fun for families while it supports local 4-H participants.
4-H students, ages 8-18, design and run arcade-style games such as balloon pops and fishing ponds for all ages to participate in.
The event is primarily a fundraiser for local 4-H students that support 4-H activities such as scholarships for camps and leadership conferences, funding for contests the students participate in and awards programming.
It is also an opportunity for them to develop new skills such as project management, budget management, leadership skills and decision making, said Faith Kroschel, extension specialist for 4-H Youth Development.
There will also be a silent auction at the event along with concessions. Game tickets are 50 cents each.
“It’s a fun time and we would love to have the public come and hang out with us for a day at 4-H,” Kroschel said.
