Prior to 2020, Vance Brand Airport at 229 Airport Rd. hosted a biennial air show. It was put on pause during the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions for social gatherings. It is returning this year more robust than ever.

The show will take place at Vance Brand Airport from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.

The airshow portion is expected to include flyovers ranging from Red Thunder Airshows, C-130, F-16 Fighting Falcons, T-6 Texans, the L-39 Albatross, the Air Force Glider Demo Team, and demonstrations by local pilots including Bob Freeman Airshows, the Rocky Mountain Ravens, and Dagmar Kress.

Multiple vendors, live music by Longmont's Unauthorized Absence and a food court will be available.

Students from the St. Vrain Valley School District's Innovation Center will conduct drone demostrations as part of the exposition portion of the show. Patron will also be able to see a fly-in by The Colorado Aviation Historical Society and their Colorado Aviation Challenge which will bring in classic and antique planes.

The event is expected to draw in over 5,000 guests. The city of Longmont is warning the community early of the heavy traffic conditions along Airport Road on Saturday.

"We rely heavily on the participation of the community at large to provide this full day of community fun.  Come see what goes on at your local airport - it’s more than you can imagine," said Melinda Jordan, director of this year's show.
