The merged association of Boulder and Longmont realtors is working to help people displaced by last month’s Marshal fire to get short-and-long term housing.
“Our members are antsy to get to work on the recovery and we know that the real need is yet to come,” said Veronica Precella, in an email.
The Realtor association — BOLO Realtors — is working with the Boulder County Office of Emergency Management and the Boulder Area Rental Housing Association to create a centralized spreadsheet where people can input available properties, Precella said. The information is fed into a spreadsheet that OEM case managers can search one source for housing, Precella said.
BOLO is also focused on fundraising for short- and long-term housing, in partnership with the Elevations Foundation Campaign. “We provide our members with every resource we can lay our hands on so that they can disseminate critical information to their clients,” Precella said.
BOLO’s state association has applied for state funds of $2,000 for each victim of the Marshall fire from the National Association of REALTORS Relief Foundation, Precella said.
As many as 1,000 structures were either destroyed or heavily damaged by the Dec. 30 Marshall fire which led to the evacuation of both Louisville and Superior.
The Boulder County Disaster Assistance Center also is offering a range of services for community members impacted by the fires, according to a Boulder news release. The Disaster Assistance Center is located at the Boulder County Southeast Hu at 1755 South Public Road in Lafayette and is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week.
