Longmont City Council voted on Tuesday night to suspend council rule of procedures 25 and change the Tuesday, March 6, 2018, regular session to Monday, March 5, 2018.
According to city council communication, the reason behind changing the city council regular session date is "to allow Council Members to participate in their local political caucuses which are scheduled for the evening of March 6th."
Longmont City Council's rule of procedure 25, titled "Meetings", sets rules as to when regular and study sessions can occur. Rule of procedure 25A states that "the regular session for the City Council shall be set for the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 7:00 P.M."
In December, Longmont City Council suspended the rule of procedure 25A to accommodate conflicts with the National League of Cities conference and spring break dates. One of those dates was to host a regular session on Tuesday, March 6.
Local channel 8 has stated that it will be able to televise the session. The Longmont Observer will also be live streaming the meeting via Facebook.
