Longmont City Council Pass First Reading of Municipal Code 10.24.110 Amendment

On Monday night, Longmont City Council unanimously passed the first reading of ordinance O-2018-14, which would amend chapter 10.24.110, titled "After-hours entry or presence in municipal facilities and grounds", of the Longmont Municipal Code.

On Monday night, Longmont City Council unanimously passed the first reading of ordinance O-2018-14, which would amend chapter 10.24.110, titled "After-hours entry or presence in municipal facilities and grounds", of the Longmont Municipal Code.

According to city council communication, Longmont Power & Communications requested the municipal code be amended with the following changes (marked in bold):

It is unlawful to knowingly enter, remain or be on grounds used for or connected with a

municipally owned or operated public facility at any time, without permission from the city

manager or authorized agent, except when the facility is open to the public or when present while charging an electric vehicle at a designated EV charging station.

A public hearing and second reading are scheduled for March 20, 2018.
