Longmont City Council unanimously agreed on Tuesday night to pass ordinance O-2017-74. The ordinance dissolves the Longmont Gateway Business Improvement District (BID)

Xilinx, the sole owner of the property and acreage within the BID service area, submitted a petition to the City of Longmont requesting the BID to be dissolved since it was no longer in need. The petition was filed on October 11, 2017, at the City of Longmont's city clerk office.

To date, the BID has not collected any taxes nor does it have any outstanding debts, obligations or liabilities.

The BID was established in 1997 with the purpose to, according to city council communication, “enable bond financing for the construction and maintenance of certain public improvements that may be associated with future Gateway/Xilinx development.”

No one spoke for or against the ordinance during the public hearing.
