On Tuesday night, city council unanimously passed R-2018-08: A Resolution Of The Longmont City Council Approving The Renewal And Amendment Of The Intergovernmental Agreement Between The City And Boulder County For The Provision Of Short-Term Counseling And Crisis Intervention Services.

In 2017, the Outreach United Resource (OUR) Center became the home of a mental health crisis intervention program. Boulder County Department of Housing and Human Services (BCDHHS) awarded funding for the program to Children, Youth and Families (CYF).

CYF hired a bilingual masters-level counseling professional who provides short-term and crisis intervention counseling services to individuals and their families at the OUR Center. A CYF division manager provides project oversight and supervision.

According to city council communication, "The primary focus is on those individuals and families who are uninsured or underinsured and do not have access to other services that are already available through Medicaid and private insurance, with priority for those at a significant risk of higher level interventions in the community and BCDHHS."

The contract amount for 2018 is not to exceed $96,820. The 2018 term includes January 1, 2018 through December 31, 2018. In the previous term, March 1, 2017 through December 31, 2017, the contract amount was $72,615.
