The Longmont Museum will close its “agriCULTURE: Art inspired by the Land” exhibit on Sunday.

The exhibit is a collaborative effort between local and national artists and Boulder County farmers to create art inspired by farming and the natural world, according to a news release from the Longmont Museum.

Eighteen artists worked with Boulder County farmers to explore the themes of agriculture and the connection people have to the land.

"Farmers have a really strong connection to the land. We're trying to show those connections to the land and hopefully, help visitors explore their own connections to the land. That's kind of the thesis of the show," said Jared Thompson, curator of exhibits that the Longmont Museum.

The exhibit was originally scheduled to debut in 2021 but was delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The extension allowed more time for collaboration and the involvement of curators from multiple institutions to ensure the exhibit matched the theme.

The exhibit features a multi-media experience and hands-on exploration activities.

Admission to the exhibit is $8 for adults, $5 for students, seniors and veterans and 25 cents with a qualifying EBT or SNAP card.
