Christmas Market at St. John the Baptist

St. John the Baptist will be hosting their first Christmas Market from 5 to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18 and Monday, Dec. 20, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 19.

“We are excited to make this an annual event to fundraise for the school and parish, and also celebrate the wonderful Christmas season! The Christmas spirit will be plentiful with festive family fun!”

Food, drinks and gifts will be for sale at the event. All of St. John the Baptist’s many generous crafters come from the school community. “We are cultivating their talents, but they do not currently sell goods at other local markets so our goods are one-of-a-kind. Some examples are Margaret and Marley Tatum selling handcrafted bath gifts and candles, Mandi Hagler with repurposed handmade dresses and jackets, Heather Painter with handmade rosaries, and the SJB knitting club with a variety of craft items. Our very own principal, Dr. Kemmery Hill, not only leads SJB students and staff, she is a jack-of-all-trades crafter and we are excited to feature her gifts! Some teachers we feature are Bethany Erker’s quilts, Rachel Arney’s jewelry, and Anita Rittenburg’s artistic gifts with help from the students. Our community has come together to donate even more. We have gifts from $1-$100 that will delight all ages.”

Entry is free and St. John the Baptist student council has organized gift wrapping, a petting station with miniature donkeys, a visit from St. Nick, kids’ crafts and reindeer food. Families can plan to enjoy ethnic foods of many kinds, homemade by St. John the Baptist’s parishioners.

ApeCo Movement Class + Potluck

Ape Co Movement School is set out to build a new paradigm in Movement to achieve the unattainable through a unique process that results in optimal physicality and relentless confidence. Join us on Dec. 29 from 4:30 to 8 p.m. at Yellow Barn Farm in Longmont for an Ape CO Movement Class then for a community potluck afterwards! Simply put, in this class we will move. Move in a way you have not experienced in other forms of fitness because we are confined only by the label of movement and all that the word entails. This will be fun and invigorating for not only your body but also your mind. The class will include several drills and partner games that will reconnect you to your humanness. Imagine a class that includes exercises to open your joints so you can move as you used to, incorporates moments of deep interaction with others, allows somatic exploration, and leaves you physically expended as well as mentally expanded.

Taught by Logan Ditillo. A long term practitioner of movement under Ape Co Movement School. Someone who uses the container of movement to express, explore and refine his passion for the connection with self, others and the world as a whole. A movement practice has sent waves of impact through his life and he hopes he can initiate a similar impact in his students' lives. Ape Co Movement School is set out to build a new paradigm in Movement to achieve the unattainable through a unique process that results in optimal physicality and relentless confidence.
