Free Outdoor Concerts at the Museum: Songwriter Showcase with Bonnie and Taylor Sims

The Longmont museum is hosting live outdoor concerts on its grassy courtyard. 

On June 30, patrons are invited to listen to music from emerging, up-and-coming, and established singer-songwriters from across the Front Range.

The event will be hosted by Bonnie and Taylor Sims, and is completely free for participants. 

Participants are welcome to bring blankets and lawn chairs of their own. Snacks and alcohol will be available for sale. Only alcohol sold on the premises is allowed.

$5 All You Can Play for Quarters Club Members at Quarters Bar and Arcade

Quarters Bar+Arcade, "$5 All You Can Play" Games for Quarters Club Members. Come in to Quarters from Open to Close (from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m)  for members all you can play. If you are not a Quarters Club Member, you can purchase a membership that day for $60/year.

Drop-In Teen Gaming Club at the City of Longmont Public Library  

Every Thursday in June and July from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. compete, cooperate, and collaborate on our Nintendo Switch featuring a selection of games for 4-8 players. This drop-in program will be held in our newly renovated teens-only space. All levels of gamers are welcome. The event will be  In-person in the Teen Space, no registration necessary! It is exclusive to 6th-12th graders. 

Mackenzie Rae live at Bootstrap Brewing

From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. come see Mackenzie Rae, who is a singer-songwriter with roots in South Dakota and western Colorado. With rich vocals, nuanced instrumentals, and a balance of high energy and sensitivity, they deliver authentic covers and originals spanning Americana, classic country, and rock. Free Outdoor Concerts at the Museum: Mile High Powwow Dance Experience

From 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. come enjoy Free outdoor concerts which are held in the Longmont Museum’s outdoor grassy courtyard. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome. Alcohol and concessions available for sale (only alcohol purchased on site is allowed). The contemporary story of the living Native American art form known as powwow comes to the Longmont Museum. Join us for a breathtaking showcase of Native American dance accompanied by local powwow drum groups and storytelling featuring members of our local native artist community. This event will be free. 

Movie Night In the Backyard  at Summit Tacos  

Every Thursday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Summit Tacos will be hosting a movie night. Tickets are $5 for adults, and kids under ten-years- old get in free! Back bar will be open slingin' drinks and popcorn. Restaurant is open until 9 p.m. Bring your own chair or blankets!

June 24

Tee it up for AWW- Golf Tournament at Saddleback Golf Course

From 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. join us for our annual Tee it up for AWW golf tournament! The cost is $750 per foursome. This includes cart, snacks, prizes, and lunch after the golf tournament. The event begins at 10 a.m. and consists of a 30-minute Friday fun storytime designed for children of all ages and their grown-ups! This storytime will include longer picture books, so expect a little more sitting and listening. Silly singing and movement will also be included. Meet us in the Library's Meeting Rooms, located by the West/Kimbark Street Entrance.

Booktok Book talk for Teens at City of Longmont Public Library

The event will begin at 12 p.m. and end at 1 p.m. It is exclusive to 6th through 12th graders, and will be in-person in the Teen Space. It will occur on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of June and July. The book club for people who want to read what they like. No matter what you're reading, come enjoy pizza with other teens, get recommendations, and talk about your latest literary obsession!

Drag Loteria at Summit Tacos

From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. join us for another backyard drag loteria! Tickets include a drink; either draft beer, paloma or small margarita + fun prizes to be had!! Show your tickets at the front counter to grab your wristband and drink ticket (or just grab your drink) and head to the backyard. The trailer bar will be open slinging drinks and taking food orders! Downtown Summer Concert: Chris Daniels & The Kings, The Delta Sonics at Fourth Avenue and Kimbark Street.

Chris Daniels & The Kings (now with Freddi Gowdy) are celebrating their 38th year with live performances over the summer. Chris was inducted into the COLORADO MUSIC HALL OF FAME in 2013 with Judy Collins and he has appeared with Garth Brooks, B.B. King, Vince, Gill, Amy Grant, Joe Walsh, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, John Oates, The Luminieers, Uncle Kracker, Blues Traveler, The Neville Brothers, and the list goes on. The Delta Sonics music takes a Chicago Blues base and seasons it with Swing, Delta, N’awlins R&B and some early Rock n' Roll . They were Westword’s best blues band in Denver the last six of eight years. The band made the semi-finals in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis 2012.The band has also played in Kansas City, St. Louis and New Orleans among other cities.

Community Sale at South Main Station Apartments 

This Saturday, June 25th from 9 a.m. to  6 p.m. and Sunday, June 26 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. We're selling everything from furniture to art to plants, cookies, jewelry, artisan journals and more. Urban Field Pizza and Market will be giving out pizza samples and coupons, so come join us!  

 

Author Talk with Dr. Jon Kedrowski at City Council Chambers

From 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Dr. Jon Kedrowski will discuss exploring the mountains and high mountain lakes of Colorado as featured in his newest book. He will focus on trip planning as well as weather and climate conditions in Colorado for the recreational hiker and will include information on safety and back country preparedness. Dr. Kedrowski will also tell us about some of his favorite swimming spots as well as his adventures with “Wild Ice” skating in this multimedia presentation! As a bonus, Dr. Kedrowski will tease his recent expeditions to both Everest and Winter K2. He will discuss the strategy, risk management, and weather considerations for climbing these 8000m giants. Dr. Kedrowski's books will be for sale, and he will be available to sign copies after the talk. Video will be made available for the event online. The Library at the Longmont Museum with Dorthy Wickenden 

From 3 to 4:30 p.m. Join us for a special program with Dorothy Wickenden, the executive editor of The New Yorker and bestselling author of Nothing Daunted, as she discusses her latest book The Agitators, about Harriet Tubman’s friendship with Martha Wright and Frances Seward. Abolition, the underground railroad, the early women’s rights movement and the Civil War are brought to stunning life through this riveting account of the lives of three close allies and neighbors. In conversation with Ashleigh Lawrence-Sanders, Assistant Professor African American history, CU Boulder. The program will be followed by a book signing with books for sale at the Museum Gift Shop. LOCO Ukulele Jam with Brian Rezac! At Bootstrap Brewing  

Every Sunday from 2-4 p.m. Bootstrap Brewing hosts a Ukulele jam. Whether you want to learn how to play the Ukulele or already do and want to join the fun, wipe off your uke and join in- it's blast! Host Brian Rezac has extras you can borrow. Or, just come enjoy a beer and watch. All ages and levels are welcome.

Full Throttle Yoga at Bootstrap Brewing

Join us from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. for Full Throttle Yoga, which is a revolutionary power yoga community, a technically simple and physically challenging way to practice a new way of being on and off the mat. Mystery Detective Club for third and fifth graders at City of Longmont Public Library

Participants will meet in the  Library Meeting Rooms. The event is reserved for incoming 3rd through 5th graders only. Do you love mysteries? Is getting a clue exciting? Are you going into 3rd through 5th grades? Then you should join our new Mystery Detectives Club! Join us from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. to practice your sleuthing/mystery-solving skills, play games and talk about your favorite mystery books. June 27 

Animaniacs Art Camp with Miss Kate and a Dragonfly and a Crow at Firehouse Art Center

Starting on Monday June 27 to Friday July 1 from  10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Do you love anime? Do you use words like Kawaii, Manga, and Chibi on a daily basis? Then this class is for you! Your Sensei (teacher) will be taking you on a weeklong journey into the roots of Anime, what makes it special. We will learn how to draw a few different styles of manga as well as create some cool things you can use to decorate your room. We will sample some Japanese snacks and play some games too. (Please inform me of any food allergies in advance). As art is messy, please dress your child in clothes that can get dirty. Any mask mandates will be followed. For kids aged 10 to 15-years-old. 

Drop-In Bilingual Storytime at the City of Longmont Public Library 

On Monday from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. join us for stories and songs in Spanish and English for children of all ages! All aged children with a grown-up are welcome, but this storytime is best for 3 years and older. Meet us in the Library's Meeting Rooms, located by the West/Kimbark Street Entrance.

Ignition Dance Fitness- Zumba Class at Elks Lodge 

Join Liliana and Katie, licensed Zumba instructors, for a high energy dance fitness class in the Elks ballroom! Every Monday and Thursday at 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.  LiveStream is also available.

Open Mic with Denny Driscoll at Bootstrap Brewing 

Performers should come at 6 p.m. to sign up. Performers get a complimentary beer for their performance. Email [email protected] for specific questions. The event will conclude at 9 p.m. 

New Skeeball League at Quarters Bar & Arcade. 

Do you love Skeeball?!?! Join Quarters Bar+Arcade's Skeeball League! Grab a partner and join us for an 8 week season of fun! The league consists of 7 weeks of regular season play, with a championship bracket on week 8. The league costs $20 per team of 2. Skeeson 12 of Monday night skeeball will run from June 27, 2022 to August 15, 2022. Skeeball league members should be 21+. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. and end at 8:15 p.m. 

June 28 

Guided Hike in Rocky Mountain National Park hosted by Angles Sports Ski, Board and Fly Fishing Shop 

Join us on a hiking adventure in Rocky Mountain National Park. Learn about the flora, fauna, geography, and other great locations in the park and around CO. Be prepared to hike 2-4 miles and see receipt for what you need to pack. Price is per day and includes admission to Rocky Mountain National Park. Meet in Estes Park at 10 a.m. and is expected to end at 1 p.m. More details will be distributed on receipt once booked. The event will cost $120 for residents and $150 for non-residents. 

Summer Kids’ Film Series: The Secret Life of Pets 2 (2019, PG) at Longmont Museum

From Disney classics to recent blockbusters, enjoy a Tuesday morning movie with your little ones in our Stewart Auditorium with popcorn this summer. Your ticket gets you $1 off the hands-on “Tipi to Tiny House” exhibit too! Buy tickets ahead; these movies sell out. The movie begins at 10 a.m. Tickets are $3 for movie only, $5 for popcorn and juice box to be included. Children ages one and under get in for free, tickets can be purchased here. Drop-In Cricut Paper Craft and Design Exploration at City of Longmont Public Library

From 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. join us this summer to play around with the Cricut and Cricut Design Space to make a project of your choice. Explore what you can do with paper and glue or vinyl and an iron. We will use the time to research and discover projects, pull projects together in Design Space and then execute a finished piece. We will meet in the Teen Space within the library and is exclusive to tweens and teens. You may bring t-shirts or other textiles from home to embellish and the Library will provide limited crafty supplies.

Karaoke with Nic at Bootstrap Brewing! 

From 6-9 p.m. join Nic at Bootstrap Brewing for a fun-night of Karaoke! Imagine someone who loves music and karaoke just as much as you do, has an eclectic taste in music genres, likes to get the ENTIRE crowd involved...not just the people singing, likes to dance and LOVES to throw a party. Welcome to Nic's Mobile Music world!!

Open Chess Night at the City of Longmont Public Library 

Tuesdays are Open Chess Night at the Longmont Public Library! We will have some tables set aside on the 2nd floor for playing with chess sets available. However, you may bring your own set. The event will occur on the second floor of the library. It opens at 6 p.m. and goes until 7:30 p.m. when games need to be wrapped up in time for closing at 8 p.m. Open to all ages, but those 16 and younger must have an adult with them at all times. Evenings will be informal and there will be no instruction on how to play (we do have books on the subject)!

The Speakeasy Open Mic Night in Longmont is the place to take the stage in Longmont. Sign-up starts at 7 p.m., the first performer starts at 8 p.m. Singers, instrumentalists, comedians, poets, hip-hop artists, and more! All are welcome! Come see the premiere acts in the area, from brand new artists to seasoned performers. The event occurs every Tuesday night. The event will conclude at 12 a.m. 

June 29 

Drop-In Baby Storytime at the City of  Longmont Public Library 

The reading starts at 10 a.m., get ready for an interactive storytime designed for infants to age 2 and their grownup! Enjoy 20 minutes of short stories, songs, rhymes, bouncing, and fun for children and adults. Baby Storytime is a great way to build language, social-emotional, and pre-literacy skills! Meet us in the Library's Meeting Rooms, located by the West/Kimbark Street Entrance.

Trashy Wednesday’s at Summit Tacos

From 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. is Trashy Wednesdays! $2.5 domestic beers and $10 buckets with $2 tequila shots!

Trivia with Big Bob at Bootstrap Brewing! 

Come play trivia with Big Mouth Bob and Quizmaster Entertainment from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at our Longmont Taproom. The winning team wins a round of beer!

June 30 

Social Emotional Circle Time for 3 to 5-year-olds at City of Longmont Public Library

Every Thursday in June and July from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The event is geared towards kids aged 3 to 5-years-old and their caregivers. Identifying and controlling big emotions can be hard, especially for young children! Kid Connects In the Neighborhood, a program through Mental Health Partners, will be partnering with the Longmont Library to provide a space for children and caregivers to learn how to identify big emotions and discuss ways to manage those feelings. This will be a fun interactive time for us all to explore and express our feelings! No registration necessary and Spanish translation available. For more information click here.

Paint Me a Story: Gorilla loves Vanilla at Crackpots Pottery Studio

From 10:15 a.m. to 11 a.m. Come visit Crackpots, a Paint Your Own Pottery Studio! For this event, our littlest Crackpots (Ages 2 to 6 years old) will read a story and paint a project to go with it. It’s a super fun activity to get their little creative gears going.

LEGO Club for Families at City of Longmont Public Library 

The Library has more than 10,000 LEGO pieces, and at LEGO Club, we get them all out and build! The club meets from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Each time the club meets, we have a different building challenge. We also make a 'shared build' together. Family event- adults and kids build together. Kids younger than 10 years old must be accompanied by someone older than 14 years old dedicated to their care. LEGO Club is an after-hours event so that everyone is very aware that there are small pieces of plastic all over the meeting room and Children's section. We put the finished creations on display in the Children's and Teen area. Front deRanged Comedy Show at 224 Main Street

We're back! The Front deRanged Improv Comedy Troupe is back by popular demand (we think) on the Jesters Dinner Theatre stage for another night of hilarious improvisational comedy. We take audience suggestions and use them to help guide each amazing scene we perform and every side-splitting...or cringe-worthy joke we tell. Leave the kids at home and bring your best suggestions for this adult show! Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 on the day of the show. Doors open at 6:30, and food and drinks are available. Come on down for a night of funny!
