Turkey Turnout Collection Day
This November, the Longmont Scouts present their 13th annual Turkey Turnout to benefit OUR Center, HOPE and Bicycle Longmont. The Turkey Turnout -- a food, clothing and bike drive -- will conclude with a collection day on Saturday, Nov. 20, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the 400 E. parking lot in Downtown Longmont where volunteers will be accepting, collecting and sorting the last of the donations from community members.
Throughout past years, the Turkey Turnout has collected approximately 53,000 pounds of food, 15,000 pounds of clothes and 400 bikes for these great, local nonprofits from residences and businesses across the city -- making it the largest single drive in Longmont. This year, however, OUR Center, HOPE and Bicycle Longmont “are seeing unprecedented local need because of lingering impacts of COVID-19,” calling on community members to participate in this year’s Turkey Turnout.
“We are all in this together, and the Longmont Scouts Turkey Turnout is here to help our neighbors in need. Our non profit partners use your contributions for those in Longmont and the St Vrain Valley area. Please help by making a donation if you can, of food, clothes, or unused bicycles. If you'd like to do more and help volunteer, we could use your help with that as well.” Visit the Longmont Turkey Turnout website to learn more about the event and ways to get involved.
