The Longmont Museum is celebrating the 150th year since the Chicago-Colorado Colony founded the city of Longmont with an exhibition titled Longmont 150. “The exhibit looks back on the forces that have shaped Longmont’s past and the recurring themes that will undoubtedly define its future.”
A reception to mark the opening of the exhibit will be on Saturday, August 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Museum’s outdoor courtyard. There will be live music by Gypsy Jazz and American Swing band Espresso and an appearance from two 1950s-era American LaFrance fire engines. Guests are invited to dress up in attire from their favorite decade of Longmont history. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for students and seniors, and children 3 and under are welcome for free. On Friday, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn in Longmont, Focused Fire Training will have a class to cover the Colorado use of force and self-defense laws, Colorado handgun laws, scenario training – training for the “what if’s,” firearms safety, handgun fundamentals training. Tickets are $40 each and you must be 18 years or older to attend.

This year marks more than a century and a half of Boulder County Fairs! The Boulder County Fair Parade will be held on Saturday, Aug 7, 2021 at 10:00 a.m., starting at Roosevelt Park, in Longmont, Colorado. The Boulder County Fair theme this year is Cowboy Boots with Family Roots. Floats, Bands, Horses, and People have made this parade a fun and exciting tradition since 1869! This event has been sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Longmont since 1961.
