First Wednesday Happy Hour for Longmont Restaurants and Bars.

Longmont restaurant owners will launch their first community wide First Wednesday Happy Hour on July 6. Local stops including Dairy Queen, Jefes Tacos and Tequila, Summit Tacos, Dickens 300 Prime, Smokin’ Dave’s BBQ, The Roost, MECO Coffee, Abbott and Wallace, Dryland Distillers and St. Vrain Cidery will participate. 

Each business will have offerings specific to the First Wednesday happy hour of every month. 

 

June 30 

$5 All You Can Play for Quarters Club Members at Quarters Bar and Arcade

Quarters Bar+Arcade, "$5 All You Can Play" Games for Quarters Club Members. Come in to Quarters from Open to Close (from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m)  for members all you can play. If you are not a Quarters Club Member, you can purchase a membership that day for $60/year.

Drop-In Teen Gaming Club at the City of Longmont Public Library  

Every Thursday in June and July from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. compete, cooperate, and collaborate on our Nintendo Switch featuring a selection of games for 4-8 players. This drop-in program will be held in our newly renovated teens-only space. All levels of gamers are welcome. The event will be  In-person in the Teen Space, no registration necessary! It is exclusive to 6th-12th graders. 

Shaka Brahdah’s live at Bootstrap Brewing

Inspired by the land of rainbows and sunshine, Shaka Brahdah’s will rhythmically transport you to the islands with the music of Hawaii and beyond. Enjoy a harmonic and relaxing night of Kanikapila from three talented musicians, Steve Doersam, Todd Ganter  and Scott Conway. Bring your Aloha Spirit and vacation state of mind. From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. 

Free Outdoor Concerts at the Museum: Songwriter Showcase with Bonnie & Taylor Sims

Free outdoor concerts from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. are held in the Longmont Museum’s outdoor grassy courtyard. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome. Alcohol and concessions available for sale (only alcohol purchased on site is allowed). The event is free and open to the public. Curated and hosted by Longmont’s own Bonnie & Taylor Sims, the second installment of our new songwriter showcase will feature original music from emerging, up-and-coming, and established singer-songwriters from across the Front Range. Learn more at longmontmuseum.org or by calling 303-651-8374.

July 1 

Drop-In Family Story Time at the City of Longmont Public Library 

The event begins at 10 a.m. and consists of a 30-minute Friday fun storytime designed for children of all ages and their grown-ups! This storytime will include longer picture books, so expect a little more sitting and listening. Silly singing and movement will also be included. Meet us in the Library's Meeting Rooms, located by the West/Kimbark Street Entrance.

Paint Me a Story: Gorilla loves Vanilla at Crackpots Pottery Studio

From 10:15 a.m. to 11 a.m. Come visit Crackpots, a Paint Your Own Pottery Studio! For this event, our littlest Crackpots (Ages 2 to 6 years old) will read a story and paint a project to go with it. It’s a super fun activity to get their little creative gears going.

LEGO Club for Families at City of Longmont Public Library 

The Library has more than 10,000 LEGO pieces, and at LEGO Club, we get them all out and build! The club meets from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Each time the club meets, we have a different building challenge. We also make a 'shared build' together. Family event- adults and kids build together. Kids younger than 10 years old must be accompanied by someone older than 14 years old dedicated to their care. LEGO Club is an after-hours event so that everyone is very aware that there are small pieces of plastic all over the meeting room and Children's section. We put the finished creations on display in the Children's and Teen area. Front deRanged Comedy Show at 224 Main Street

We're back! The Front deRanged Improv Comedy Troupe is back by popular demand (we think) on the Jesters Dinner Theatre stage for another night of hilarious improvisational comedy. We take audience suggestions and use them to help guide each amazing scene we perform and every side-splitting...or cringe-worthy joke we tell. Leave the kids at home and bring your best suggestions for this adult show! Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 on the day of the show. Doors open at 6:30, and food and drinks are available. Come on down for a night of funny!

LOCO Ukulele Jam with Brian Rezac! At Bootstrap Brewing  

Every Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. Bootstrap Brewing hosts a Ukulele jam. Whether you want to learn how to play the Ukulele or already do and want to join the fun, wipe off your uke and join in- it's blast! Host Brian Rezac has extras you can borrow. Or, just come enjoy a beer and watch. All ages and levels are welcome.

July 4 

Open Mic with Denny Driscoll at Bootstrap Brewing 

Performers should come at 6 p.m. to sign up. Performers get a complimentary beer for their performance. Email [email protected] for specific questions. The event will conclude at 9 p.m. 

New Skeeball League at Quarters Bar & Arcade. 

Do you love Skeeball?!?! Join Quarters Bar+Arcade's Skeeball League! Grab a partner and join us for an 8 week season of fun! The league consists of 7 weeks of regular season play, with a championship bracket on week 8. The league costs $20 per team of 2. Skeeson 12 of Monday night skeeball will run from June 27, 2022 to August 15, 2022. Skeeball league members should be 21+. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. and end at 8:15 p.m. 

Fourth of July Fireworks at Fox Hill Club 

Monday, July 4th 2022 from 5:30pm -10:30pm. Entrance to the Event is through the main entrance to Fox Hill Club near the corner of CO Highway 119 and Ludlow St ONLY!  Entry to the event via golf course trails or fairways is prohibited! Entrance to the event is FREE if you walk or bike in to Fox Hill through the main entrance. Parking passes for Fox Hill: Passes went on sale June 15th, but are now SOLD OUT.  If you were unable to get a parking pass, you are free to find parking close by and free to Uber, walk, or bike, or get dropped off/picked up at the event using the main entryway to get front row seats to the greatest show in town, on the driving range. Click here for Map for everyone to enter NOTE: PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN OR AROUND UC HEALTH HOSPITAL FOR OBVIOUS REASONS! No outside alcohol is allowed to be brought in to Fox Hill. Food, beer, wine, cocktails, and soft beverages will be available for purchase onsite. Please bring blankets or folding chairs, bug spray and a light jacket is recommended.

July 5

Guided Hike in Rocky Mountain National Park hosted by Angles Sports Ski, Board and Fly Fishing Shop 

Join us on a hiking adventure in Rocky Mountain National Park. Learn about the flora, fauna, geography, and other great locations in the park and around CO. Be prepared to hike 2-4 miles and see receipt for what you need to pack. Price is per day and includes admission to Rocky Mountain National Park. Meet in Estes Park at 10 a.m. and is expected to end at 1 p.m. More details will be distributed on receipt once booked. The event will cost $120 for residents and $150 for non-residents. 

Summer Kids’ Film Series: Inside Out (Disney/Pixar 2015, PG) at Longmont Museum

From Disney classics to recent blockbusters, enjoy a Tuesday morning movie with your little ones in our Stewart Auditorium with popcorn this summer. Your ticket gets you $1 off the hands-on “Tipi to Tiny House” exhibit too! Buy tickets ahead; these movies sell out. The movie begins at 10 a.m. Tickets are $3 for movie only, $5 for popcorn and juice box to be included. Children ages one and under get in for free, tickets can be purchased here. Dungeons and Dragons for Teens at City of Longmont Public Library 

The event will occur on the first and third Tuesdays from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Library Teen Space on the first floor. Calling all D&D lovers! 6th to 12th graders who have some experience playing Dungeons & Dragons are invited to come and play friendly campaigns. The most experienced players will Dungeon Master and more experienced players will help along players without as much experience. This is a teen-powered program! Participants will have to work together cooperatively to create the playing experience. New players may join, but there is no specific instruction provided for beginners.Registration required, you can register here

Karaoke with Nic at Bootstrap Brewing! 

From 6-9 p.m. join Nic at Bootstrap Brewing for a fun-night of Karaoke! Imagine someone who loves music and karaoke just as much as you do, has an eclectic taste in music genres, likes to get the ENTIRE crowd involved...not just the people singing, likes to dance and LOVES to throw a party. Welcome to Nic's Mobile Music world!!

Open Chess Night at the City of Longmont Public Library 

Tuesdays are Open Chess Night at the Longmont Public Library! We will have some tables set aside on the 2nd floor for playing with chess sets available. However, you may bring your own set. The event will occur on the second floor of the library. It opens at 6 p.m. and goes until 7:30 p.m. when games need to be wrapped up in time for closing at 8 p.m. Open to all ages, but those 16 and younger must have an adult with them at all times. Evenings will be informal and there will be no instruction on how to play (we do have books on the subject)!

Speakeasy Open Mic 

The Speakeasy Open Mic Night in Longmont is the place to take the stage in Longmont. Sign-up starts at 7 p.m., the first performer starts at 8 p.m. Singers, instrumentalists, comedians, poets, hip-hop artists, and more! All are welcome! Come see the premiere acts in the area, from brand new artists to seasoned performers. The event occurs every Tuesday night. The event will conclude at 12 a.m. 

July 6 

Drop-In Baby Storytime at the City of  Longmont Public Library 

The reading starts at 10 a.m., get ready for an interactive storytime designed for infants to age 2 and their grownup! Enjoy 20 minutes of short stories, songs, rhymes, bouncing, and fun for children and adults. Baby Storytime is a great way to build language, social-emotional, and pre-literacy skills! Meet us in the Library's Meeting Rooms, located by the West/Kimbark Street Entrance.

Trashy Wednesday’s at Summit Tacos

From 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. is Trashy Wednesdays! $2.5 domestic beers and $10 buckets with $2 tequila shots!

Intro to Paddle Boarding Class

The class will meet at Flanders Park on the North Side of Lake McIntosh from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The class will be taught by Dakota Serrette, Matt Burditt, and Nathan Otteman. This class is for the total beginner who has little or no experience with SUPing. We will cover: Hard boards vs Inflatables. The differences between a cheap SUP and a quality one. Differences with paddles. How to transport your SUP. How to enter the water. How to mount your board. How to stand up. Where to go and the Colorado safety regulations you must abide by. Basic safety and emergency skills. We will provide Paddleboards and PFDs, but if you have your own equipment it is recommended to bring your own. The class will cost $65 for residents or $81.25 for non-Residents.  

Trivia with Big Bob at Bootstrap Brewing! 

Come play trivia with Big Mouth Bob and Quizmaster Entertainment from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at our Longmont Taproom. The winning team wins a round of beer!

Wednesday Evening Jazz at Dry Land Distillers 

From  7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Join Dry Land Distillers for an evening of live jazz on the first Wednesday of the month. Led by local musician Vic Dillihay, these sessions are low-key, instrumental performances that showcase many established and up-and-coming young musicians. The mixology team designs weekly cocktail specials to pair with the music. We'll also offer sweet and savory treats from different farms, chefs and caterers to enjoy. Depending on weather, shows might be hosted on the outdoor patio. Get here early - seating is limited!

July 7 

Social Emotional Circle Time for 3 to 5-year-olds at City of Longmont Public Library

Every Thursday in June and July from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The event is geared towards kids aged 3 to 5-years-old and their caregivers. Identifying and controlling big emotions can be hard, especially for young children! Kid Connects In the Neighborhood, a program through Mental Health Partners, will be partnering with the Longmont Library to provide a space for children and caregivers to learn how to identify big emotions and discuss ways to manage those feelings. This will be a fun interactive time for us all to explore and express our feelings! No registration necessary and Spanish translation available. For more information click here.

Dance Performance with Bailes de Mi Tierra at City of Longmont Public Library

From 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Join us for a performance by the Longmont Senior Center's dance troupe, Bailes de Mi Tierra. The troupe performs traditional Latino dances from Mexico, as well as Central and South America. No registration necessary, great for kids of all ages!

A sultry alt-Americana band founded in Boulder in 2013, Foxfeather has become a local staple along the Front Range in addition to touring nationally. Movie Night In the Backyard  at Summit Tacos  

Every Thursday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Summit Tacos will be hosting a movie night. Tickets are $5 for adults, and kids under ten-years- old get in free! Back bar will be open slingin' drinks and popcorn. Restaurant is open until 9 p.m. Bring your own chair or blankets!

The event will begin at 12 p.m. and end at 1 p.m. It is exclusive to 6th through 12th graders, and will be in-person in the Teen Space. It will occur on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of June and July. The book club for people who want to read what they like. No matter what you're reading, come enjoy pizza with other teens, get recommendations, and talk about your latest literary obsession!

Join tour guide Dori Spence, a medium, for the Haunting History Tour and hear the life stories of locals and legends. Some gone, but not forgotten! Others forgotten, but not gone? On the second Fridays from April to November, there will be an East Side Haunting History tour at 7 p.m. A single ticket is $20 and two tickets are $35. Stand Up Paddle Board Intro at Angles Sports Ski, Board and Fly Fishing Shop

For the total beginner who has little or no experience. Learn about the differences in boards and paddles, how to transport & use your SUP, and the Colorado safety regulations you must abide by. Second half of class is at McIntosh Lake, transportation not provided. For ages 18 and up. The class will cost $65 for residents and $81.25 for non-residents. The class will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Keep an Ion Science: Hands on science workshop for kids at City of Longmont Public Library

For First through Fourth graders. Participants can drop-in at one of the following times: 1 p.m., 1:30 p.m., 2 p.m., or 2:30 p.m. There is a maximum of 25 kids per time slot. No registration required, first-come first-served. Join us for a 30-minute fun, interactive science program led by teen scientists! This program is open to kids entering 1st through 4th grades accompanied by an adult. If the time slot is full, we will do our best to get you into the next one. Be sure to come with a curious mind and excitement to learn new things!

Artist in Action! At Old Town Marketplace

From 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Come upstairs in the Old Town Marketplace and watch a professional artist painting at her easel (or floor, or wall…) You can also check out her gallery with originals, prints and greeting cards for sale. Demystify (or add to) the magic of the creation of a painting!

Creative Crawl: Spin some wool with the Longmont Yarn Shoppe Spinners at Longmont Yarn Shoppe

From 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. the Longmont Yarn Shoppe Spinning community will be in front of the shop spinning fiber on wheels and drop spindles. Join in the fun and try a hand at using a drop spindle!

ArtWalk Summer on the Streets- July 9, 2022
