River Craft Fair to Help Fight Human Trafficking

Human trafficking continues to increase at epidemic levels around the world. It particularly enslaves children and women, victims of terrible poverty. The River in Lyons, Colorado, partners with two organizations to combat this scourge in Thailand and the Dominican Republic, two countries where trafficking is particularly prevalent. Last year, the COVID pandemic created extremely tough financial challenges for each of these two organizations. In an effort to raise much needed funds for them, The River is presenting a one-of-a-kind Craft Faire. A wide assortment of masterfully created items will be available for donations. Donated crafts by local artisans include wooden bowls, bird houses, stools, quilted and crocheted items, ornaments and many more. While there will be no specific charge for these, all attenders will be encouraged to make generous, tax deductible donations to support these efforts. All proceeds will go to fight human trafficking — a perfect opportunity to discover unique gifts for the coming holiday season while also making a difference. The River Craft Faire will be held on November 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The River is located at 18668 N St. Vrain Dr. in Lyons, Colorado. For more information, call the River’s office at 303-823-6469.
