Longmont Police Ask For Assistance in Shooting

Around 5:40 a.m. on June 12, a shooting took place at in the 2200 block of Pratt Street in Longmont.

A 17 year-old male was shot and taken to a local hospital. He was later transported to a Denver area hospital with serious injuries.

The police, two witness accounts, identified and arrested Taurain L. Smith, a 19 year-old male from Lincoln, Nebraska. Smith was arrested for second degree assault and taken to the Boulder County Jail.

While LPD believe they have contacted all the witnesses and people involved in this incident, they are asking that any other witnesses contact a detective at 303.651.8523.

There were no other injuries in this incident. LPD states that there is no threat to the community.
