Longmont Police Report: August 20, 2018

PROTECTION ORDER

On Monday, August 20, 2018, at about 0012 hours, Longmont Police contacted a vehicle at Mountain View Ave and Coffman Street for fictitious license plates. An adult male was arrested for protection order violation and traffic offenses and an adult female was arrested for an active warrant. The male was transported to the Boulder County Jail and the female posted bond. Case cleared by arrest.

SUSPICIOUS SITUATION

On 08/20/2018 Longmont Police were dispatched to the 1700 block of Main St., reference a reported sexual assault. Upon arrival, officers contacted the reporting parties and were able to locate and speak with the adult female alleged victim. It was determined no sexual assault had occurred, and there were no charges warranted in this matter.

DISTURBANCE

On August 20, 2018, Longmont Police Officers responded to the 1400 block of Dry Creek Dr. reference a disturbance. Through the investigation, Officers learned an adult male and an adult female had caused damage to another's property. The victim agreed to handle the incident civilly. The adult male paid for the damage that was caused. Case closed.

DOMESTIC INCIDENT

On August 20, 2018, Longmont Police took a report of a domestic violence that occurred in the 2500 block of Sunset Drive. This case is openĀ pending arrest of the adult male, or acquisition of a warrant.

WARRANT ARREST

On August 20, 2018, Longmont Police Officers were dispatched to the area of 9th Ave and Martin St. reference a 2 car accident. Through theĀ investigation, it was learned that one of the adult female drivers had an active warrant for her arrest. She was taken into custody without incident and later transported to the Boulder County Jail. Closed by arrest.

FRAUD

On August 20, 2018, a forgery report was received from the 2300 block of 15th Ave. An adult male reported the amount was changed on a previously used check of his. There is no suspect information. Case closed.

DOMESTIC INCIDENT

On 08/20/2018, at approximately 1546 hours, Longmont Police responded to the 100 block of Wetterhorn Way, to an address in the City of Longmont, County of Boulder, and State of Colorado reference a Domestic Violence call for service. Officers conducted a detailed investigation and determined probable cause to arrest one adult male on Domestic Violence related charges. The adult male was taken to Longmont Police Department where he was booked in full and later transported to Boulder County Jail.

BURGLARY

On Monday, August 20, 2018, at approximately 1640 hours, officers responded to the 200 block of East 8th Avenue on an attempted burglary. The reporting party showed officers a window frame and screen that had been damaged from the outside. The unknown suspect was unable to gain entry into the apartment. The case is closed.

ANIMAL COMPLAINT

On August 20, 2018, the Longmont Police Department investigated an animal bite in the 1400 block of Centennial Drive. This case is closed.

WARRANT ARREST

On 082018, Officers responded to the 200 block of Coffman St reference a suspicious situation. An adult female was arrested on a warrant. The case is cleared by arrest.

PROTECTION ORDER

Police were called to a local high school on two students who were there together but had a protection order in place restraining them from contacting each other. The investigation showed that the protection order was no longer valid and the case was cleared exceptionally.

THEFT

On August 17, 2018 Longmont Police took a theft report in the 1400 block of Bowen Street which occurred on August 15th. This case is closed with no suspects or investigative leads.

SHOPLIFT

On 08/1/2018 officers responded to the area of 1200 S Hover St on a report of a shoplift in progress. Officers found the associated vehicle leaving the scene and tried to conduct a traffic stop but the vehicle fled the scene. Case will remain open until a warrant is obtained.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

On August 19th, 2018, Officers took a report of a criminal mischief that occurred in the 700 BLK of Fairlane Ave. This case will be closed due to lack of evidence.

SHOPLIFT

On Monday, 08/20/18 at approximately 0018 hours, Longmont Police were dispatched to the 600 block of S Emery St in reference to a theft that just occurred. The suspects fled prior to law enforcement arrival and their identities are unknown. Case is closed.

HIT AND RUN ACCIDENT

On Monday, 08/20/18 at approximately 0057 hours, Longmont Police were dispatched to the 600 block of Grandview Meadows Dr in reference to a hit and run property damage crash. An adult male driver was identified and he was issued a summons for crashing into a building. Case cleared by arrest; summons issued.

FRAUD

On August 20, 2018, Longmont Police took a report of an adult male fraudulently using bank accounts and other financial accounts in the City of Longmont. This case is open pending further investigation and collection of evidence.

ANIMAL COMPLAINT

A Longmont woman was bitten by her cat in the 2100 block of Hackberry Circle. The cat was placed on quarantine at home.

WARRANT ARREST

On 08/20/18 at 0927 hrs. a Longmont Police Officer was assigned a warrant arrest in the Longmont Municipal Court. An adult male was contacted with an active warrant. The adult male was taken into custody and released on bond. Case was cleared by arrest.

VICIOUS DOG

A Longmont male was bitten by his dog while breaking up a fight in the 1200 block of Cedarwood Drive. The dog was surrendered to the Longmont Humane Society and placed on quarantine.

DOMESTIC INCIDENT

On Monday, August 20, 2018, at approximately 1609 hours, officers of the Longmont Police Department responded to the 2200 block of Emery St for a burglary in progress. An adult male was arrested for burglary, restraining order violation, and domestic violence. Case cleared by arrest.
