Longmont’s Adam Deines and his Pro Truck No. 7 fell short of the Matco Tools Pro Trucks championship Saturday night at the Colorado National Speedway in Dacono.

Deines ended up in fifth place in two races and in third place overall, said his wife Michelle Deines. Prior to Saturdays’ race, Deines was in first place in total points in Pro Trucks.

“There were some issues with the truck and handling,” Michelle Deines said in an email.

She also wrote on Facebook that she was proud of everything the Deines team did throughout the race year.

“You guys went to hell and back with everything from broken hoses, trashed transmissions, junk tires, to health issues, to work accidents, surgeries, struggling with injuries, trashed transmissions…and so much more,” Michelle Deines said. “Your resilience is to be admired.”
