The Longmont Community Foundation is hosting their Live and Give event on Wednesday, September 12, 2018.
According to Eric Hozempa, executive director of the Longmont Community Foundation, "Live & Give Longmont Day (September 12, 2018) encourages residents to contribute any amount to good causes."
Every year the Longmont Community Foundation (LCF) receives requests for grants from local nonprofits totaling $400,000. Only a fraction of the dollars requested is able to be supported by LCF.
"We need to be ready to assist those nonprofits that support residents with their health, basic needs, and education, as well as those that work to improve the aesthetics of the community and overall quality of life through investment in the arts and the environment," says Hozempa.
In 2002, the Live and Give Longmont Fund was created to "provide permanent financial support to the local nonprofit community," states Hozempa in an email to the Longmont Observer.
