On October 9, Boulder County Elections Division tested the ballot machines to be used in the November 6 election. The test run on these machines is called the Logic and Accuracy Test (LAT).
Boulder County announced that, "The LAT also confirmed ballots are properly printed for the election and the equipment is accurately calibrated to process ballots. Each type of ballot and all ballot styles were tested. In all, 1,544 ballots were tested, including 1,494 mail ballots and 50 ballots generated from ballot marking devices."
The results were confirmed by participants from local municipalities, districts and representatives from the local Democratic and Republican parties. These participants verified that the equipment did indeed read the ballots and tabulated votes correctly and properly.
After completing the tests, the machines were cleared of all the test votes and reset to zero.
According to Boulder County, "results and test records are available for review at www.BoulderCountyVotes.org under this year’s 2018 Election Information section."
