The League of Women Voters of Boulder County (LWVBC) is hosting a candidate forum for the Boulder County Commissioner and Sheriff positions on Thursday, October 4. The event will be held at the Lafayette Library, located at 775 West Baseline Road, Lafayette from 6-7:30 p.m.

"We envision a democracy where every person has the desire, the right, the knowledge and

the confidence to participate," as states the LWVBC website.

As candidate and public policy elections approach, LWVBC encourages people to take an active role in government through education and advocacy. Part of the education LWVBC provides includes hosting public forums for residents to attend to make up their own minds when it is time to vote.

Those running for Boulder County Commissioner include Matt Jones (D) and Gary Cooper (R). While the following are running for Boulder County Sheriff Joseph K Pelle (D) and John Bedrick (R).


Midterm Debate Held at Longmont Museum

On Saturday, October 6, the Longmont Observer and the League of Women Voters of Boulder County (LWVBC), in partnership with the Longmont Museum are hosting Representative Ken Buck and Dr. Karen McCormick for a midterm political debate.

The debate will be held at the Stewart Auditorium. Seating is first-come, first-served and the doors open at 1:30 p.m. for a 2 p.m. start. Learn more.
