On September 26, the City of Longmont turned on a new traffic light at the intersection of Highway 119 and Fairview St.
"Traffic volumes at the intersection warranted the installation of a new traffic signal. In addition to the existing traffic, J. M. Smucker LLC is constructing a new production facility that will utilize this intersection as a primary access point," states the City of Longmont.
The project received a $250,000 grant from the Colorado Department of Local Affairs and the City of Longmont matched $110,000 of those funds, for a project total of $360,000.
