Omar Abughalib Found Guilty, Sentencing Set July 12, 2019

Omar Abughalib was recently found guilty by a jury of two counts of Sexual Assault, one count of Unlawful Sexual Contact with Force, one count of Sexual Assault with Force-Domestic Violence, and one count of Unlawful Sexual Contact with Force-Domestic Violence.

Omar Abughalib was recently found guilty by a jury of two counts of Sexual Assault, one count of Unlawful Sexual Contact with Force, one count of Sexual Assault with Force-Domestic Violence, and one count of Unlawful Sexual Contact with Force-Domestic Violence.

These crimes were enacted on a female acquaintance and an ex-girlfriend in 2017. Both victims, along with two other victims, stated that they had "experienced sexual violence at the hands of Mr. Abughalib," according to a press release from the Boulder County District Attorney.

District Attorney Michael Dougherty stated, “We greatly appreciate the jury’s service. Due to the amount of evidence to consider, the jury worked hard to reach the right verdict. The victims demonstrated courage and perseverance in reporting these attacks and going through this trial. I am grateful for the outstanding efforts of the entire prosecution team. Our
staff was committed to reaching the right result and worked tirelessly to do so; we recognize the trauma for the victims and the impact on community safety.”

The sentencing for this case is scheduled for July 12, 2019 at 1:30 p.m.
