A single-vehicle crash occurred at South Main Street near the intersection of Quail Road on July 26 at around 9 a.m., killing the driver and injuring the front-seat passenger. The identities of the driver and passenger have not yet been released.
The deceased’s name will be released by the coroner’s office once next of kin is notified, said Longmont’s Public Information Officer Rogelio Mares. The passenger is a 46-year-old female from Longmont. She was transported to a local area hospital for treatment and then eventually air lifted to another hospital due to the care needed, Mares said.
The southbound lanes on South Main Street were diverted at Quail Road at 9:16 a.m. due to the crash. The roadway was reopened at 4:51 p.m.
At this time, the cause of the crash is still under investigation, Mares said.
