Maurizio Cattelan: Be Right Back

Thursday, March 2, 7 pm;

Art-world provocateur and trickster spirit Maurizio Cattelan made his career on playful and subversive works that up-ended the art establishment, until a retrospective at the Guggenheim in 2011 finally solidified his place in the contemporary art canon. This film will be followed by Q&A with the filmmaker.

Writing Workshop for Teens with YA author Leslie Vedder

The Wandering Jellyfish Bookshop, 198 Second Ave. Ste 1-A

Young adult novelist Leslie Vedder is coming to The Wandering Jellyfish Bookshop for a writing workshop targeted toward teens. At this month’s workshop, she’ll talk about remixing classics into a new story. Participants will think about taking a plot and tweaking it, changing the point of view and/or genre all while keeping the components that make the original story so compelling. Vedder will also engage in a Q&A and book signing.

Become a Community Preparedness Ambassador

Join the Boulder Office of Emergency Management for the next offering of the Disaster Strong Train-the-Trainer Preparedness Series on Monday, March 6, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Superior Community Center, 1500 Coalton Road. This series is intended for participants who want to support preparedness efforts in the Boulder County community by becoming Community Preparedness Ambassadors who work to teach community peers the essentials of disaster preparedness. There's no need to have any prior knowledge of disaster preparedness - this series will equip participants with all the information they'll need to successfully facilitate the preparedness content to peers by covering emergency notification information, how to conduct a personal risk assessment, how to create a plan, and facilitation skills. This is a free event, but please note that registration is required for all attendees. Register.
