Teen Writing Workshop with YA author Ellen O'Clover
5-6 p.m.
The Wandering Jellyfish Bookshop
Young adult novelist Ellen O’Clover writes stories most of us can relate to: trying to be included, finding love and figuring out what to do next. Her most recent novel, Seven Percent of Ro Devereux, follows a high school senior who created a mobile app. But it’s not just any piece of tech. It can predict your future with incredible accuracy. Will she trust it when it predicts her own future?
O’Clover will talk about her book and writing craft at a teen writing workshop hosted at The Wandering Jellyfish Bookshop this month. Participants will learn about creating a compelling plot and work together to draft a novel, complete with character, premise and essential plot points. O’Clover will also be available for a Q&A and book signing.
Growing up in Ohio, Ellen O’Clover eventually studied creative writing at Johns Hopkins University and moved to Colorado. She now lives in Denver with her rocket scientist husband and bulldog.
When: Saturday, January 28, 5 - 6 p.m.
