A small plane crash in the area between Lefthand Canyon Drive and Gold Hill Road, claimed the life of one person Sunday, according to the National Transportation Safety Board.
The twin-engine plane had four people on board but there had been no information on any other fatalities as of Sunday night. An NTSB investigator is scheduled to be on site of the plane crash today.
An initial call about a plane crash was reported to the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office about 9:41 a.m., according to officials. The crash sparked a small wildfire and an evacuation warning for residents near the 10000 block of Lefthand Canyon Drive and the towns of Gold Hill and Ward at 10:31 a.m. Sunday. The sheriff’s office lifted the evacuation order at 11:31 a.m.
