Safe Shelter of St. Vrain Valley is hosting a prom pop-up shop for youth heading to prom in April.

This is the first year the event has been held, according to a news release from St. Vrain Shelter.

High school students can visit the shop and find everything they need for prom. The items are free for the youth to take to make their night as magical as possible.

Items available include shoes, dresses, suits and ties. Some local businesses have donated gift cards for high school students to get their hair and makeup done and for flowers. Dresses were collected by a local mom’s group.

The event will take place on March 30 from 1-5 p.m. at the Fairfield Inn and Suites, 1089 S. Hover St. Shoppers can enjoy food and music while they pick out their perfect prom attire.

Donations are still welcome. Safe Shelter is primarily looking for gift cards to local restaurants so the prom attendees can have a meal before they dance the night away. All donations will be accepted until 5 p.m. March 29 and can be dropped off at Safe Shelter’s main office located at 82 21st Ave. Longmont.
