Around 79% of Boulder County residents have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine with 74% fully vaccinated. Yet there are still some who still want the shot and have not felt the prick of the needle.
On Wednesday, Gov. Jared Polis provided an update on the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The vast majority of Coloradans are doing their part by getting vaccinated and we’re bringing vaccines to communities, workplaces and truly meeting Coloradans where they are at,” Polis said.
As a state, 71% of Coloradans have received at least one dose of the vaccine but that is not enough for state leaders.
Committed to vaccinating as many Coloradans as possible, Tara Trujillo, COVID-19 vaccine campaign manager, heads a team that has made more than 2.3 million calls and had over 39,000 conversations to educate Coloradans about the vaccine.
To reach even more people, Polis announced another round of incentive programs for those who receive their first or second dose at a participating state-operated vaccine site, a news release from Polis' office said.
The first incentive is a $100 Walmart gift card, which will be given out as supplies last.
The second is a new scholarship giveaway to encourage more students to get vaccinated, the release stated.
