Regal Cinema at Village at the Peaks reopening on Friday

The theater will be back in action on Friday with a slate of familiar titles and some new releases.

Break out the popcorn money, Regal Cinema at Village at the Peaks is reopening this week. 

The theater will be back in action on Friday with a slate of familiar titles and some new releases. 

Among the “classic” flicks and newer films you can catch for $5 are “Back to the Future,” “Black Panther,” “Bloodshot,” “Deadpool,” “Inception,” “Jaws,” “Sonic the Hedgehog,” “Star Wars: Episode V  — The Empire Strikes Back,” “Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens,” “The Goonies” and “Unforgiven.”

New releases on Regal screens for which regular admission prices apply will be “Tulsa,” “Unhinged” and “Words on Bathroom Walls.” 

Tickets also are being presold for “The New Mutants,” which hits the theater Aug. 27.

COVID-19 related safety measures will be in place, according to the Regal website. Among them:

  • Theatergoers will be required to wear masks at all times in auditoriums, the lobby, hallways and bathrooms.

  • The reservation system will leave one or two empty seats between groups depending on the type of seating available.

  • Every other register at concession stands will be closed to maintain social distancing and free refills on popcorn and fountain drinks will not be available. 

  • Vending machines and water fountains will not be available. 

  • Employees will undergo daily health screenings.
