Winter Bike to Work Day is an annual event designed to encourage commuters to ride their bike to work instead of jumping in their car.
The event is organized by Way to Go as a program of the Denver Regional Council of Governments.
The event is scheduled for Feb. 9. Longmont commuters can stop by the Development Services Center located at 385 Kimbark St. for a free hot breakfast burrito.
Already more than 1,000 people have committed to riding their bikes on Feb. 9. Those who pledge to ride their bikes will automatically be entered into a drawing for other “cool prizes,” according to a Facebook post by Longmont Public Safety.
