Resident faces charges related to Tally Ho Trail grass fire

A resident in the Gunbarrel area is facing charges related to the Tuesday afternoon grass fire near Tally Ho Trail in unincorporated Boulder County.

The resident was only identified as an adult female in a Boulder County Sheriff’s news release.

The origin and cause of the fire has been identified, however the extent of the damage remains ongoing, the news release states. The current estimate of damages is $5,000-$10,000.

Boulder County Communications received a call regarding a grass fire near Tally Ho Trail, south of the Twin Lakes neighborhood in Gunbarrel, the news release states.

The grass fire grew to be just under 10 acres in size. Multiple homes in the surrounding area were evacuated as deputies went door-to-door. Firefighters were able to quickly gain control of the fire, and there were no reports of structure loss nor injuries, according to the news release.
