Longmont’s Rhythm On The River Festival celebration is back this year in a big way, say organizers.
“I do expect a big turnout this year,” said Samantha Calhoon, the city’s recreation program coordinator. “I am excited to be back this year, and I know this festival has been missed. It’s nice to have a slice of normal to look forward to this summer.”
The annual bash of music and food returns July 8-9 at Roger’s Grove Park, after being shelved for two years because of COVID-19 restrictions. This week, the city council approved an agreement with Boulder County for the use of the fairgrounds parking lot.
The county provides the use of the parking lots at no cost to the city, according to a staff report to the council.
The city will soon announce the groups that will play at the festival as a local musician, Jessica Carson, is curating the lineup, Calhoon said.
The city is also recruiting local food vendors, breweries and distilleries, Calhoon said.
“We will also have attractions that the whole family will love and Roger’s River Run 5K will return this year as well,” she said.
More details will be available soon, she said. Residents can keep an eye on the city’s website: Rhythm on the River | City of Longmont, Colorado (longmontcolorado.gov) as well the city’s social media.
