LONGMONT, CO –Today, Jake Marsing received an endorsement from Run for Something (RFS), a national organization that recruits and supports the next generation of progressive leaders for state and local office. The organization’s slate of newly endorsed candidates includes young, diverse progressives from across the country who are ready to lead in their communities.

“I’m honored to have earned the endorsement of Run for Something,” Marsing said. “RFS’ endorsement is one of the most sought after in the nation, and being an RFS candidate means being part of a movement of bold, community-rooted leaders who are stepping up to serve. It’s a reflection of the people-powered, values-driven campaign we’re building here in Longmont.”

Marsing’s campaign has quickly become one of the most energized and well-organized in Longmont’s history. Since launching in March, the campaign has raised over $30,000, setting a new fundraising record for a City Council race, earning support from more than 200 individual donors, the majority of whom live in Longmont. Marsing has also secured key endorsements from Congressman Joe Neguse, State Representative Karen McCormick, Mayor Pro Tem Susie Hidalgo-Fahring, and now, Run for Something. These endorsements further signal the strength and broad appeal of his grassroots movement.

“Bold leaders like Jake are at the forefront of the fight for our rights and freedoms at a time when they have never faced greater threats,” said Amanda Litman, Co-Founder and President of Run for Something. “Run for Something is proud to endorse Jake Marsing as part of our latest class of young leaders working to secure lasting change in their communities.”

Marsing’s campaign is focused on building a “Longmont for Everybody,” a community that protects affordability, invests in early childhood education, supports sustainable growth, and ensures working families have a real voice in local decision-making.
