Suspect in Dec. 31 bank robberies in Longmont

Longmont Police suspect two bank robberies committed on New Year’s Eve were done by the same suspect.

A Caucasian male  - about 5-10 to 5-11 inches tall and weighing 175 pounds - entered the Wells Fargo located at 635 Coffman Street at 1:13 p.m on Dec. 31. The male passed a note to the teller demanding money, the teller complied, and the male left the area in a light colored SUV, according to Robin Ericson, spokeswoman for Longmont Public Safety.

The male was described as wearing a light blue surgical mask, gray baseball cap on backwards, and a black jacket, Ericson said in an email.

A male matching the same description in the first robbery walked into First Bank at 1707 Main St., at 2:18 p.m Ericson said. The male passed a note to the teller with the same demands for money and the teller complied. The male left First Bank and walked from the northwest corner of 17th and Main St., to the southwest corner of 17th and Main St., and got into the passenger seat of a 2014-2016 white Subaru Forester parked in the area of the southwest corner of 17th and Main. The Subaru left the area in an unknown direction, Ericson said.

No weapon was seen in either robbery. Police believe the robbery suspect who entered the bank has dark brown hair and some facial hair, Ericson said.

Police are looking for witnesses or for surveillance videos in these two areas. Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call Sgt. Todd Chambers at 303-651-8521 and reference Longmont Police Report #21-10857.
